It’s been 7 months since my last post…this is my social media confession…The intrigue and momentum were on such a high early this year…Then life takes over and reprioritizes activities…new home, new tenant, new challenges…It’s time to reinvigorate those ideas…Thanks to Bro and Augie for the constant reminders to get back into the social media universe…I’m back…
During Social Media Week, I had the pleasure of meeting Sheila Goldgrab, an executive leadership coach. In her latest video post entitled “Leadership in the 2.0 Age”, Sheila highlights the evolution of new leaders during this Web 2.0/social media environment.
Web 2.0 is technology…Technology will drive creativity…Creativity will create the newest leadership breed…These new leaders will be able show how Web 2.0 integration in the workplace will alter strategies, create efficiencies, enable real-time information sharing and solidify person-to-person relationships (both internal and external). More importantly, this integration will increase one’s chances at attracting talent from the “Grown Up Digital” or Gen X/Y/Z generations…It is these generations (although sometimes forgotten) that today’s leaders will be depending on to sustain what a leader has built…If you do not build it, they will not come…So, it’s up to you…

Success is achieved when one follows through with their dreams, ideas and passion. Tiger Woods wouldn’t be where he’s at if he didn’t follow through (possibly a bad example). Michael Jordan would never be the best basketball player of all-time if he never followed through. Cal Ripken Jr. would have never been deemed as the record-breaking ironman and Hall of Fame shortstop if he never followed through. These elite players knew what had to be done to succeed. How can you follow through with your dreams and ideas? Read “The Follow-Through Factor” by Gene C. Hayden and be inspired. What have you done to reach your goals?
