Leadership in the 2.0 Age
During Social Media Week, I had the pleasure of meeting Sheila Goldgrab, an executive leadership coach. In her latest video post entitled “Leadership in the 2.0 Age”, Sheila highlights the evolution of new leaders during this Web 2.0/social media environment.
Web 2.0 is technology…Technology will drive creativity…Creativity will create the newest leadership breed…These new leaders will be able show how Web 2.0 integration in the workplace will alter strategies, create efficiencies, enable real-time information sharing and solidify person-to-person relationships (both internal and external). More importantly, this integration will increase one’s chances at attracting talent from the “Grown Up Digital” or Gen X/Y/Z generations…It is these generations (although sometimes forgotten) that today’s leaders will be depending on to sustain what a leader has built…If you do not build it, they will not come…So, it’s up to you…

On Social Media-cation
I’m finally feeling like my old self again…Had gone to a walk-in clinic this morning…Doctor just prescribed Biaxin, an antibiotic to get rid of this minor lingering cough…He told me to take Biaxin with a full stomach…My sister advised me to eat yogurt prior to ingesting the pills…supposed to help…We’ll see how this “rev up” and “double-exhale” cough goes away…The “cough descriptors” are newly found by my loving wife…I keep explaining to her that these coughing techniques are habits and possibly inherited..She doesn’t believe me that it’s uncontrollable…I guess this is what makes me authentic…”aP-isms”…
Enough about the medication…Social Media-cation…It is such an intriguing phenomenon that will and has taken over the web landscape…People out there are taking social media to the next level…I just read Mitch Joel’s “Six Pixels of Separation” and Gary Vaynerchuk’s “Crush It!”...simply awe-inspiring…It’s amazing how these creative geniuses have leveraged on these web communication tools to feed their passions…I admire people that take control of their lives and do what they love doing…If you’re looking for a good read about Social Media, I highly recommend these two books…
